Welcome

Whew. Four days in the car, driving through snow and winding roads, and we made it without a hitch -- except for when we locked the keys in the car in Tok, AK and needed AAA's assistance.

Sometime this week I want to do a more reflective post about how I'm feeling at the beginning of this segment of my life, but for now I just want to give you a sense of of where I'm living. I think because it is so far away many of you are curious about the basics.

I'm not a great on-camera guy, but at least this gives you an idea of what the place is like. These pictures hopefully give you some idea of the terrain and wildlife we encountered.

Comments welcome,
Andrew

  1. Pretty cool place... It is so comforting to know you are both settled there. The Bison, Moose, Elk.. squirrels - what ever they are in the photo's is not what one sees in the Bronx, it is absolutely amazing. The apartment is monstrous. You can play 2 hand touch in there. I am so happy you guys are there safe from the long journey. Best of luck on the new job. I hope it provides the experience, the training, satisfaction and challenges you are looking for. Life is an adventure.. seize the opportunities. Best of Luck Howie... PS ship your Mom back please. If I saw the roads earlier during the journey I would have more nervous than I had been, and that was significant :-)))) Enjoy the new environment, and job assignment. All the best Howie

  6. What a house! you need a cleaning person to clean it. I have one but you will have to pay her traveling expenses from Florida. When will I be able to read some of your articles? Enjoy your new adventure and feed the animals....LOVE GRANDPA
